Mike’s new Texas game: Where’s Obama? (rather than Where’s Waldo?) down at the border. Frank updates the listening audience on the recent conviction of suspended Wilkes-Barre City tower Leo Glodzik III on theft charges. Mayor Leighton will still not terminate Glodzik’s towing contract. Why? In any event, the relationship of Glodzik-towed vehicles to the Wilkes-Barre Federal Credit Union is one of a number of matters still being investigated by the feds. Concerning a related issue, Besty Summers—sitting in-studio with Frank—provides a summary of the state’s Sunshine Act, adding, “The wheelers and the dealers hate it.”

Segment II
Mr. X on Bill Binney NSA whistleblowing: the US government has been seeking total domination over the populace by means of extensive surveillance. Mike confirms the intimidation factor, even by other government entities, from the local level all the way up to Washington. Betsy speaks of receiving an IRS audit notice last fall merely weeks after publicly criticising a vote of Congressman Barletta’s. Is the government at all levels acting more like the mafia?

Segment III
Lou calls in from being on the road in Iowa. He reminds the Sanity Check audience of the “Occupy Justice” rally at 11 a.m. at the Luzerne County Courthouse on Thursday, July 17. Is the public truly starting to stand up to judicial corruption? Courtroom observers are essential. X cites a recent Supreme Court decision affirming filming of police . . . transparency at all levels is essential. He then goes on to discuss police recruiting trends and common psychological traits.

Segment IV
Frank returns by discussing the recent row over the actions of the Inne of the Abingtons. Betsy cites a bill introduced in the Pennsylvania House, HB 300, with a well-defined focus on “discrimination,” but she would rather vote with her dollars than have everything regulated by government. X thinks the free market should be permitted to function unfettered and it will decide which businesses and business models will survive.
